Food Hackathon BCN

ESADE Business School, in partnership with FoodInno Institute @ Stanford-Berkeley, invites you to collaborate on creating, prototyping, and birthing solutions for the food industry by attending this fully immersive and thrilling hacking experience.

This one-day idea building competition will gather together the most passionate foodies, developers, designers, entrepreneurs and innovation lovers for a session of problem solving, aiming to rapidly prototype innovative solutions that the food industry needs today.

Tapas are a very special part of the Spanish cuisine in that it can be served hot or cold, traditionally or contemporarily, for young or old, for individuals or groups, etc. Because of this huge potential for which the experience can be INNOVATED, we have decided to create this exciting prompt of: Transcending Today’s Tapas!

As an age-old cuisine, one can create new tapas that reflect our changing community, reimagine the tools for these new tapas, and redesign the ordering process or environment in which we consume these tapas.

Our challenge is to transcend today's tapas by redesigning the traditional tapa cuisine, tools, service, dining experience and business model.

 
 

Q: What is a Hackathon?
A: Our Hackathons are concentrated creative consulting sessions with local food companies, during which we help solve business, marketing and design problems

Q: Who can attend? 
A: Developers, designers, gamers, marketers, storytellers, foodies, entrepreneurs and anyone is a food and innovation lover is invited to participate. Individuals and teams from established institutions are welcome to participate.  

Q: What should we bring?
A: Your laptop, your friends, and an innovative mind! Food will be provided throughout the day. 

Q: What are the rules and criteria of winning the event?
A: Instructions and challenge details will be announced during the event.
 
Q: What if I don't have a team or an idea?
A: No worries! If you don't come with a team, we will assign you to a team of 5 based on your skill set.
